Waltzing Matilda
It's known as Australia's unofficial anthem.
"The song narrates the story of an itinerant worker, or "swagman", making a drink of tea at a bush camp and capturing a sheep to eat. When the sheep's owner arrives with three police officers to arrest the worker for the theft, the worker commits suicide by drowning himself in the nearby watering hole, after which his ghost haunts the site." What U2 thinks about the Present Perfect.
I have
climbed highest mountain
I have run
through the fields
Only to be
with you
Only to be
with you
I have run
I have
crawled
I have
scaled these city walls
These city
walls
Only to be
with you
But I still
haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still
haven't found what I'm looking for
I have
kissed honey lips
Felt the
healing in her fingertips
It burned
like fire
This
burning desire
I have
spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held
the hand of a devil
It was warm
in the night
I was cold as
a stone
But I still
haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still
haven't found what I'm looking for
I believe
in the kingdom come
Then all
the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into
one
Well yes
I'm still running
You broke
the bonds and you
Loosed the
chains
Carried the
cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I
believed it

Route 66
Have a look at the American way with the Rolling Stones' Route 66
Well if you ever plan to motor west
Just take my way that's the highway that's the best
Get your kicks on Route 66
Well it winds from Chicago to L.A.
More than 2000 miles all the way
Get your kicks on Route 66
Well goes from St. Louie down to Missouri
Oklahoma city looks oh so pretty
You'll see Amarillo and Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona don't forget Winona
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernadino
Would you get hip to this kindly tip
And go take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66
Well goes from St. Louie down to Missouri
Oklahoma city looks oh so pretty
You'll see Amarillo and Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona don't forget Winona
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernadino

When mercy seasons justice
"The quality of mercy is not strained,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes.
'Tis mightiest in the mightiest, it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown.
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway.
It is enthronèd in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself,
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice. Therefore, Jew,
Though justice be thy plea, consider this:
That in the course of justice, none of us
Should see salvation. We do pray for mercy,
And that same prayer doth teach us all to render
The deeds of mercy."

The Merchant of Venice by W. Shakespeare.
Nice speech claiming for revenge against religious discrimination and racist behaviour.
Shylock's words are never out of date.
